In my conversations with clients around the world over the last six months I have noticed an increasing trend to discuss ways in which BT can help them optimise their assets, whether they be people, infrastructure or systems. The motivation for this interest is partly commercial, where many operators put increasing focus on improving not just top-line revenues but bottom line margins. The other driver is operational, where there is an increasing acceptance that it is possible to source services from suppliers that would have once been provided only in house.
At BT Telconsult we are responding to this client need by developing a range of managed consultancy services around the theme of optimisation. Our aim is not only to provide traditional consultancy but also deliver tangible services that allow our clients to improve their efficiency and speed the implementation of these optimisation projects.
Over the next couple of months we will be rolling out a portfolio of managed consultancy services that will help clients optimise their RAN assets, improve and automate their field engineering force and improve the efficiency of their international voice business. These services are based on proven capabilities developed by BT. Like all the services BT Telconsult provides, we tailor them to the specific needs of our individual clients with their unique business challenges.

Biography
Colin has worked in the telecommunications industry for 35 years, 20 of them spent conducting business in more than 60 countries around the world. Starting with a technical / engineering background, Colin has also managed large customer service and operations organisations, including BT’s IPLC business. More recently Colin managed mergers & acquisitions teams along with the implementation and development of BT’s joint venture assets in Asia Pacific. He has also has led telecoms consulting engagements for BT across all continents of the world. Currently General Manager of BT Telconsult, Colin has global responsibility for all BT telco consulting engagements. Although his extensive travel is not conducive to regular social activities, Colin enjoys playing golf (badly), supporting his local football team and spending time with his partner Isabelle and two daughters Lucy and Stephanie.
